| Summary: | This study is conducted to study and evaluate whether the parking area build specifically for solo women drivers can provide safety to women drivers. Thus the objectives of this study is to investigates women perception towards women-only KLCC parking space, to identify factors affecting the safety of women-only parking space, and to recognize improvements needed to the current KLCC women-only parking space. A set of questionnaire was distributed to 110 women who used the women-only parking space. From the findings, P-value methods were used to test the hypothesis and Value of Gamma for the correlation between design and the perception of safety. The result showed the women drivers were satisfied with the design and the level of safety of the parking space. Five designs have been selected to be tested. The first design is the number of security guards with strong significant and moderate relationship with perception of safety. Second is the location of CCTV installed with strong significant and moderate relationship with perception of safety. Meanwhile, the number of intercom and emergency button installed and perception of safety have insignificant and very weak relationship. The lightning condition also has insignificant and very weak relationship. Finally, the location of parking has significant and moderate relationship. The findings show that KLCC women-only parking managements have designed the parking space appropriately to providing safety to women drivers. Through hypothesis testing, it shows that there are some features and managements issues that give an impact to the security level which are the number of security guards, the location of the parking with the stairs and lifts, and the location of CCTV installed. These three factors affect the perceptions of women drivers as a whole. |
