Among activities that they are not favour are utilizing mosque as a place for business activities, teaching “non-Islamic subjects” such as Arabic, English, skills training, places for elderly activities and other meeting place. This reflects the local culture and values of the Kurdish community with regard to utilization of mosque related to narrow concept of “religion activities”. The findings clearly show that the function of mosques could be expanded from its existing function as a place for prayer and mourning ceremony only. The function of the mosque as place of the community development and service centre that are not related to religious activities require more exposure to the Kurdish people. 2013 Thesis http://eprints.utm.my/id/eprint/42231/ http://dms.library.utm.my:8080/vital/access/manager/Repository/vital:77831 masters Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, Faculty of Built Environment Faculty of Built Environment |
