Summary:Descriptive research quantitative and qualitative aims to identify middle leaders mentoring skills practiced by the national school Muar. Mentoring skills surveyed personnel style aspect, asks aspect, feedback aspects, setting objectives and direction aspects, open minded and easy to deal with aspects , colleague support aspects, active listening aspect , flexibility aspect and awareness of surrounding aspects .This study also to compare the skills of mentoring based on gender and field head the committee. In addition, this study also examines the problem in implementations of mentoring programme from a teacher who have been guided and recommendations that can be applied to cover the shortfall in each of the programs . Research studies are used quantitative and qualitative methods using questionnaires and interviews . Respondents were a total of 158 elected heads of committee and 34 teachers who have been guided the mentoring programme . Measuring devices for quantitative methods is that modified mentoring skills checklist issued by the Univercity was Colleague Dublin , Ireland . As for the qualitative study , the researchers used thematic interviews to get answers from teachers who are guided . A total of 18 hypotheses developed and tested using the t test , two -way ANOVA and the mean percentage . The results of this study indicate that there is one aspect in mentoring skills that has not been controlled by middle leaders and that there was a difference based on gender mentoring skills aspects but not on the field committee head . The study also found that there are problems that occur when implement mentoring programme and recommendations that can be adapted in school.
