Summary:Without good moral, a society will ruin. Development of good morals can form a civilized society. In al-Quran, there are many verses that outline moral guidelines for Muslims. This study describes the approach of al-Quran in implementing social and family values to children through the verses in Surah Al-Nur. The objective of this study is to analyze the role and methods of al-Quran to educate children about morals. This study used a qualitative research method by using interview and library research to obtain data. Interviews were conducted in International Arabic School in Johor. According to the teachers that were interviewed in this school, they have implemented teaching outline in Surah Al-Nur to the students under their tutelage. Furthermore, interview with students at this school revealed that they have practiced the moral guidelines that has been taught to them in their daily lives. The results showed that the application of moral guidelines as outlined in the surah al-Nur can have a positive impact on the personality development of children. They were able to maintain their behaviors whenever they go. In conclusion, this study demonstrates the importance of manners as outlined in Sura al-Nur and to be practiced in the home in order to develop a good family.
