| Summary: | Management of competition events in a sports tournament is one of the important elements that become a benchmark to determine the success of the tournament. The management team that responsible in organizing the tournament must ensure that aspect become their priority during the tournament. With the advancement in the information technology area, the organizer must utilize all the facilities to assist them in the implementation of the competition management. Realizing that situation, this project has been initiated to facilitate Pontian Education District Office in the management of their annual athletics meet. The business processes before, during and after the meet must be handled effectively and efficiently to satisfy all the parties, especially the athletes and the teams. The management of the competition events before this was done manually and involves a huge usage of human resources and time. The priority of this project is to develop an application system that will assist the management in organizing the meet. The application system will reduce the usage of human resources and time significantly by automation and improvement in the present business processes. The application system is a web base and will help the management, for examples in the registration process, arrangement of athletics, results process and the sum of points and medals. The implementation of the system will utilize the information technology equipment that exist in Pontian Education District Office and the schools that under its administrative. No new equipment needed during the implementation. By using the application system, it is expected that the management of the athletics meet will be carried out effectively and achieve its objectives successfully. |
