| Summary: | Multi-storey residential building in Malaysia often having problems with the residents hanging their laundry in a messy and disorganized form. This brings to the distortion of the residential image. Besides, the residents often hanged their laundry in the prohibited area. Researchers found that the suitability for the placement of cloth hanger facilities and their function need to be investigated to reduce the problem. The objectives of this study were to investigate the problem of residence, the suitability of the placement of cloth drying space and the type of cloth hanger to be used and to determine the function of cloth drying space and cloth hanger as a common property or as an accessory parcel. The methodology for this study involves descriptive analysis technique which was analyzed using percentage and narrative analysis supported by the Google SketchUp technology. The Google SketchUp applications were used to produce a 3D model. The 3D model visualizes objects more easily which improves the decision making, which enables the visualization from multiple angles. This study produces the 3D model of additional cloth drying spaces and types of cloth hanger for common property or accessory parcel. The suitability of the two functional spaces was determined based on the opinions and agreements from experienced parties in managing multi-storey residential building including contractor, joint management body, project manager, and commissioner of building. |
