Summary:Maintenance of airport facilities are an important factor that can contribute to facilities performance that can ensure the customer satisfaction level. Maintenance and repair activities, when plaffi1ed properly, can affect performance in such a way to enhance the capability and condition of airport facilities. However, to ensure maintenance activities can maximize the facilities performance and reduce the life cycle cost, it requires maintenance strategies. This study aims to identifY the critical maintenance at Senai International Airport (SIA). In this study, the types of maintenance are identified from previous studies and references from international organizations such as the International Civil Aviation Organization (leAO). Based on the findings in this study, it was found there were eight types of maintenance at the airport and these was confirmed by the experts who met a total often experts. Along with the methodology of this study using literature review and expert, this study using Interpretive Structural Modeling (ISM) to identify critical elements of the maintenance in SIA. Accordingly, the relationship between each of the elements identified by experts in SIA using the Structural Self-Interaction Matrix (SSIM). Each expert who will fill out the SSIM form to help researchers to identifY critical maintenance by ISM method. According to the study, the researchers identified the maintenance of pavement is the most critical in SIA. This is because maintenance of pavement considered as sensitive because it involves areas such as runway and taxiways. With this finding it would help the SIA to plan the maintenance strategies to improve facilities performance and reduce the maintenance costs.
