However, parking in low-cost housing areas, especially under the Projek Perumahan Rakyat (PPR) programme provided by the Ministry of Urban Wellbeing, Housing and Local Government (KPKT) in urban areas often have problems inadequate parking. In this case, the increase in car lifts in the passage of time leads to insufficient provision of existing parking space. Therefore, this study focuses on identifying the concept of automated rotating parking system (ART) and the method of using this system and studying the potential use of ART parking system in low-cost housing areas. Furthermore, the research method used is through interviewing methods with people who stay in PPR’s programme for a long time which is 15 until 30 years and agencies who are apart of MBJB in order to know the potential use of ART parking system in low-cost housing areas. The findings of the study show that this system has the potential to be used in accordance with the guidelines set by the Town and Country Planning Department (JPBD) with a ratio of 1: 1 for low-cost housing areas and the suitability of the parking system is automatically used in this residential area as well as to identify that the ART parking system this can reduce the problem of insufficient parking. Additionally, the cost of maintenance afforded by residents in this housing according to their ability is at RM60 to RM100 per month. Therefore, this system can potentially address the problem of parking in low-cost housing areas in urban areas but should be agreed upon by all parties and find out the appropriate location.
