Description
Summary:In Semenanjung Malaysia and Wilayah Persekutuan Labuan, until 2002 there were a total of 31 EDM base line were constructed. All EDM base line are calibrated periodically by using the standards tools of which is JUPEM pre-calibrated at the test sites at Ashford Middlesex, United Kingdom and approved by SIRIM . Nowadays, in line with the rapid change in the survey methodology, equipment that employs advanced technology such as Global Positioning System (GPS) have been widely used by surveyors. As such, author have adopted GPS with Rapid Static observation techniques and Real Time Kinematic (RTK) for determining the EDM base line distance at UTHM in putting up this Project Paper. The distance derived from the GPS observation will be compared with the original distance that had been derived from the pricise EDM equipment, that is LEICA TC2003 to assess the ability of using GPS and MyRTKnet in the work of revision of baseline EDM. However, from the analysis conducted shows GPS with Rapid Static and RTK observations using MyRTKnet not be used in the work of revision of baseline precision EDM for granted does not exceed the accuracy of the instrument to be calibrated. The difference between the results obtained are not consistent with the observed differences in distance from RTK technique is 0.022mm to -0.019mm and techniques of observation Rapid Static is 0.030mm to -0.014mm.
