Summary:Indonesia's education system aims to build capacity, develop character and civilization in the intellectual life of the nation. In realizing the goals of national education, the role of principals leadership as a key pillar to the development of quality education which refers to an outstanding school management and stability in educational leadership. Teachers and staff are eligible to earn income and welfare support of appropriate and adequate, the award by the duties and job performance, according to the demands of quality development. However, the low quality of teachers in Indonesia especially in Wajo, South Sulawesi Province because the lack of improvement in a professional manner, in which the principal leadership role as the direct supervisor and key holders in school leadership, has been unable to generate the morale than staff. Therefore, this study aims to understand and assess the relationship between transformational leadership on job satisfaction and teaching practices of secondary school teachers. This study uses a concurrent embedded research design. Data source are questionnaires and interviews. Five hundred and fourteen teachers were selected to provide their feedback through questionnaires. Sixteen secondary school teachers and five principals were being interviewed. The data for questionnaires were analyzed using descriptive and inferential analysis using SPSS software, while the data for interviews were analyzed using thematic analysis through NVivo software. The findings indicate that transformational leadership, job satisfaction and teaching practice of teachers at secondary school in Wajo Indonesia were in moderately high level. There is a positive and significant relationship between transformational leadership with job satisfaction and teaching practice of teachers‘ secondary school. Predictor variables of transformational leadership (individual considerate, intellectual stimulation, inspiration motivation and influence ideas) jointly variables affect the job satisfaction and teaching practice. In addition, any changes in the level of job satisfaction and teaching practice can be explained by the predictors than transformational leadership. The results of this study present a framework for strategy of principals transformational leadership that can enhance the job satisfaction and teaching practice of teachers in secondary schools. Finally, this study contributes ideas and direction to various parties in order to assist and support the principals in the practice of transformational leadership in improving job satisfaction and teaching practice of teachers, so as to produce a quality education that refers to the management of an outstanding school.
