Summary:The objective of this study is to observe the practices of several factors which influence the effectiveness of implementation of the process sciences skill in Pontian district. This study involved 50 form four science teachers of all secondary schools in Pontian district. An instrument in the form of a questionnaire was used to collect the data. The data was analysed using SPSS and presented in terms of percentages and means. Data analyzed indicates that teachers practised some of the factors which were known to help implement the process science skills more effectively. These factors were teachers’ knowledge and skill, students’ dicipline while doing experiments and students’achievement in science subject. Another two factors namely the teaching strategies and the time constrain factors were perceived as the obstacles in the implementation of the above skills. With regard to the ranking of these factors, teachers perceived that the main factors which influence the implementation of the process science skill among form four students were teachers’ knowledge and skill, teaching strategies and students’ dicipline while doing experiments factors. They also perceived that students’ achievement in science and time constrain factors were minor factors.
