| 總結: | Construction projects in public sector or government project continues to grow with the nation?s development. Projects increased in numbers and complexity. However due to complexity of the construction project management, it is impossible the project to be executed and delivered without any changes during the project life cycle especially at the construction stage. Variation order (VO) in construction project happened in almost all project and it leads to a lot of issues. This project report is specifically address VO issues in public project in Perak. A study on the aspect from construction contract definition, the variation order and causes leading to it, is carried out. In order to get better understanding about the current practice, an exploratory studies and data collection been done with Malaysia Public Work Department. The study reveals that the variation order management is not fully understood by most of parties involved in the public sector construction project and the procedure not fully followed. An analysis also indicate that there is a documents, instructions, procedures been used to manage the variation orders but it?s not fully understand and followed by other government sectors and most of relevant parties involved in public constructions project. The paper proposes improvement to all procedure and process, which make it relevant to be followed and to be used as a reference in managing the variation order. The study concludes that there are rules and regulations related to VO but the parties in the contract need to understand the VOs, its impact and the consequences on parties in the contract. |
