The use of existing training facilities is further enhanced through the National Blue Ocean Strategy (NBOS) launched by the Government to optimize the use of all existing training facilities at the Public Training Institute (ILA). ILA's buildings and facilities require maintenance to create a conducive environment that supports and stimulates learning, teaching, innovation and research. Strategic maintenance management is the ideal alternative to implement maintenance management at the Public Training Institute (ILA). One of the solution is the implementation of Critical Success Factors (CSF’s) that prompted this research with the formulation of three (3) related objective which are; 1) To identify the success factors of strategic maintenance management implementation, 2) To define the critical success factors of strategic maintenance management implementation and 3) To develop the relationship model for strategic maintenance management implementation. The scope of this study is focused on maintenance management at the Public Training Institute only. To achieve the objectives, two (2) research methodologies were employed that involved literature review and expert’s opinions. The expert opinions were obtained and analyses using Interpretive Structural Modelling (ISM) technique. Based on the results, there are seven (7) success factors and two (2) critical success factors were identified through the mentioned methods. In addition, results from the formation stage of the ISM model through the iteration process, there were two (2) factors (depending on priorities) that need to be emphasized and required appropriate action from department namely “Top Management Commitment” and “Policy and Strategies” 2020 Thesis http://eprints.utm.my/id/eprint/96687/ http://eprints.utm.my/id/eprint/96687/1/ManohelmiMiorTajudinMFABU2020.pdf.pdf application/pdf en public http://dms.library.utm.my:8080/vital/access/manager/Repository/vital:143076 masters Universiti Teknologi Malaysia Faculty of Built Environment & Surveying
