Summary:Affordable housing is one of the alternative that has been introduced by the Government to help the low-income and modest group in their efforts to own the house. It is an attempt to be praised, but when various housing schemes are able to belong, there is also a question of social sustainability that refers to the social and cultural life in affordable housing. Thus, the study was conducted to identify the level of satisfaction regarding social and cultural life gained by the residents of affordable housing. The first objective of this study is to identify the components of social and cultural life within the affordable housing. While, the second objective is to examine the level of population satisfaction on social and cultural life in a affordable housing. The selected research area is Sky Awani Residensi in Kuala Lumpur. The selection of this research area is the result of a discussion session with the Ministry of Federal Territory (KWP), which recognizes Sky Awani Residensi among the best affordable housing in the country. In turn, a quantitative method using the questionnaire was selected as a single instrument and circulated to 110 respondant in the housing. The process of analyzing the data is carried out using the frequency analysis method, descriptive analysis alongside the analysis of Likert scale, Crosstab analysis and also analysis of the Chi Square. The results of the analysis found that the majority of respondents stated they were not satisfied with the elements of the relationship with the neighbor in the components of social and cultural life. At last, the reviewer hoped this study would be able to help the government, developers, management and buyers and Malaysians in formulating policies and better housing development and provide useful information to ensure life better.
