This study used correlation design involving 40 KYPJ students for the Basic Mathematics course using questionnaire instruments and achievement tests. The mathematics anxiety questionnaire was adapted using the Mathematics Anxiety Rating Scale (MARS) instrument and the interest questionnaire was adapted using the Mathematics Interest Inventory (MII) instrument. The results of the descriptive analysis study show that the level of mathematic anxiety and interest among KYPJ students is at a moderate level. The Spearman’s Rank Correlation Coefficient (ρ = -. 418) correlation test found that there was a weak significant negative relationship between mathematic anxiety and Basic Mathematics achievement. In addition, the Spearman’s Rank Correlation Coefficient (ρ = .441) correlation test found that there was a weak significant positive relationship between interest and achievement in Basic Mathematics. Meanwhile, the Multiple Regression test found that mathematical anxiety is a predictor of the achievement of Basic Mathematics students.
