Description
Summary:This study was conducted to investigate factors influencing Compliance with Safety Behavior among students in a TVET institute located in Pulau Pinang. For this study, Work Study Scale developed by Hayes et al. (1998) were adopted to investigate factors influencing Compliance with Safety Behavior. The study involves 201 participants among students in a TVET institute. The quantitative method of survey questionnaire and cross-sectional study of data collection were used. Factors investigated are Task Safety, Course Mates Safety, Instructor Safety, Management Safety Practices and Satisfaction with Safety Programs. All the data obtained from the study was analyzed with Structural Equation Modelling SmartPLS for convergent validity, discriminant validity, multicollinearity evaluation and evaluations of the measurement model. The study's findings revealed that Instructor Safety and Satisfaction with Safety Programs had a significant positive relation with Compliance with Safety Behavior. These data suggest that Instructor Safety and Satisfaction with Safety Programs have substantial influence on the level of Compliance with Safety Behavior among students in the TVET institute that have been studied.
