Summary: | Job satisfaction is not a new issue in Malaysia include for the Royal Malaysia Police (RMP). Job satisfaction is one way to establish and maintain a healthy organizational structure; it will give a potential impact on work attitudes such as job performance, productivity, and
organizational commitment. The agency of RMP, like any other public sector organization, needs to develop and maintain a strong relationship with its human resources in order to effectively perform crime fighting and service provider roles. There are many factors that led to low performance among the officer in RMP. This study will provide the fundamental knowledge for police top management or policymakers to improve employees’ job satisfaction and further, it will implement necessary changes to extend officers' job
satisfaction levels, which successively provide better services for citizens. The purpose of this study is to analyse the relationship between the independent variables (salary, fringe benefit, promotion opportunity, and supervision) and the dependent variable (job satisfaction). The analysis was based on data from 350 RMP members (respondents) in Melaka. This finding suggests that salary, fringe benefits, promotion opportunity, and supervision all play important factors in employee job satisfaction. The recommendations for the related finding as well as the study's limitations were also discussed. |
