Employment This study is to review the level of awareness of employers and employees regarding Behavior Based Safety (BBS) in reducing accidents in the construction sector. BBS is one approach to reduce incidents in the workplace by changing risky behaviors to safety-based behaviors. The objective of this study is to identify the main factors influencing BBS that contribute to accidents at construction sites, evaluate the influence of factors in BBS (management, behavior, & environment) on accidents at construction sites and suggest BBS factors that need to be emphasized for avoid accidents at construction sites. Questionnaires were used in this study and distributed to respondents consisting of employers and employees in construction companies. Data were analyzed using the Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) and respondents level of awareness regarding BBS was interpreted using a 6-level mean score scale. Findings from this study show that there are four factors that influence the implementation of BBS that need to be emphasized to prevent accidents at construction sites are environmental factors, company management and employee behavior. Administrative control measures for human factors need to be enhanced so that the risk of accidents can be avoided or reduced. However, the level of BBS practice should be in line with the level of awareness on BBS to reduce accidents in the workplace. Therefore, further research on the level of BBS practice among employers and employees should be done in the future provided that each construction company involved has implemented the BBS program first. 2021 Thesis https://etd.uum.edu.my/10164/ https://etd.uum.edu.my/10164/1/depositpermission-not%20allow_s826198.pdf text eng staffonly https://etd.uum.edu.my/10164/2/s826198_01.pdf text eng staffonly https://etd.uum.edu.my/10164/3/s826198_02.pdf text eng staffonly other masters Universiti Utara Malaysia
