This study investigated the relationship between Knowledge, Attitude, Awareness, Communication towards Safety Compliance among faculty laboratory staff in a public university. A total of one hundred and three laboratory staffs were selected from Faculty of Medicine, Universiti Malaya. A validated questionnaire was distributed among the respondents. This study employs quantitative design field study with cross-sectional time frame. The analysis of data collection was performed by statistical tool Statistical Program for Social Science (SPSS) version 27. Results shows for Pearson correlation analysis, attitude, awareness and communication have a significant relation to compliance (p=0.001; p=0.000; p=0.001). However, knowledge (p=0.149) did not have significant to compliance. Based on the results in Multiple Regression analysis, it shows that there is significant association on the awareness (β = 0.292; t=2.445; sig=0.016) and communication (β = 0.246; t=2.387; sig=0.019) to compliance. Whereas for knowledge (β = -0.185; t=-1.376; sig=0.172) and attitude (β = 0. 148; t=0.890; sig=0.376) showed no significant association to compliance. In conclusion, awareness and communications had substantial impacts on the compliance towards safety rules and procedures. 2022 Thesis https://etd.uum.edu.my/10501/ https://etd.uum.edu.my/10501/1/grant%20the%20permission_s827819.pdf text eng staffonly https://etd.uum.edu.my/10501/2/s827819_01.pdf text eng public other masters Universiti Utara Malaysia |
