| Summary: | This study examines the effectiveness of micro-credit on the quality of life poor people in three southern provinces of Thailand, namely Pattani, Yala and Narathiwat province. The main objective of this study is to investigate how micro-credit affects the quality of life poor people by focusing on relevant variables such as financial capital, human capital. A quantitative study where data was collected through survey questionnaires has been applied for this study. The respondents of the study consisted of 700 head of households from eight villages in eight districts, and the sampling method used was multi-stage sampling. The collected data were analysed using multiple regression analysis techniques. The results of the study show that seven out of ten independent variables tested significantly affect the quality of life poor people, namely the loan period, purpose of payment, education, skills training, housing, water supplies and road facilities, and electricity. All of these variables have a significant relationship with the the poor at the 90%, 95% and 99% levels, while the variables that do not have a significant effect on the poor may have a relationship with the other control variables. The main implication of this study on the effectiveness of microcredit on the quality of life the poor people is that it is expected to support all villagers in getting access to micro-credit more easily. It will benefit poor people in three southern provinces of Thailand, in an effort to improve their quality of life. |
