Description
Summary:The use of information technology systems or online services has become a new phenomenon in the industry in Malaysia. The purpose of this study was to see the level of user acceptance of the STAMPS system by internal users, namely IRBM officials. This study uses the technology acceptance model (TAM). By using a sample of 106 officers working at the Malaysian Inland Revenue Board, the findings of the study show that users' acceptance of the use of the STAMPS system is influenced by the notion that the STAMPS system is perceived to be useful, perceived easy to use, attitudes, behavioral intentions, actual use and demographic factors such as age, sex, education level, tenure and experience using the system. The findings of the study also show that perceptions of usefulness, perceptions of ease of use, attitudes, behavioral intentions and actual use to have a positive and significant influence on the level of user acceptance of the STAMPS system but not the demographic factors. The regression analysis conducted found that, the factors of perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, attitudes, behavioral intentions and actual use contribute as much as 50 percent to the variation in user acceptance of the STAMPS system. Implications for theory and practice as well as research recommendations for the future are also discussed in this study.
