Description
Summary:An enterprise resource planning (ERP) system is a software that helps organisations to manage their core processes, including assets, inventory, order requests, financial accounting, and human resources. This study explores the ERP implementation challenges in a telecommunications company. This study is a qualitative study, where a single case study approach was used (in a company given the pseudonym FESB) to collect data using a semi-structured interview. The data was analysed by using thematic analysis. The findings suggest that the main challenges faced by FESB during ERP implementation are technology, data migration, training and learning and management. In this context, these factors contribute to the delayed ERP implementation in FESB, which is targeted to be implemented in July 2022. The findings suggest that FESB should utilise the system’s capabilities more than currently; the system implementation is at the data migration stage and is not fully used. This research contributes to the challenges to ERP implementation in the context of a telecommunications company.
