Employment The objective of this study is to examine the influence of management commitment, safety training, safety awareness, and safety culture towards the dimensions of safety behaviour namely safety participation and safety compliance among retail employees of Company X’s outlets in the state of Perlis and Kedah. The present study employed a survey questionnaire consisting of 38 items to assess the six variables using 5-Likert Scale. A total of 177 workers have participated as respondents in this study. The data analysis was conducted using descriptive and inferential methods via IBM SPSS Statistics 29 software. The findings indicated that safety training and safety culture have significantly influenced safety compliance. While, safety awareness and safety culture have significantly influenced safety participation. However, management commitment and safety training did not significantly influence safety participation, and management commitment and safety awareness have no significance influences on safety compliance among retail workers. The findings of this study have provided a fresh viewpoint on the potential impact on retail workers and strategies to promote their participation and adherence to safety regulations in the workplace. The limitations of this study are financial and time constraints as well as the unwillingness of the workers to participate as this study’s respondents. For future studies, it is proposed the application of other methodological approaches such as by employing a qualitative methodology through conducting in-depth interviews, in order to obtain more comprehensive and detailed findings. Furthermore, it is recommended that future researchers to broaden the scope of their study by covering different regions within Malaysia. 2023 Thesis https://etd.uum.edu.my/10900/ https://etd.uum.edu.my/10900/1/Depositpermission_829316.pdf text eng 2024-08-06 staffonly https://etd.uum.edu.my/10900/2/s829316_01.pdf text eng 2024-08-06 staffonly https://etd.uum.edu.my/10900/3/s829316_02.pdf text eng staffonly other masters Universiti Utara Malaysia
