Therefore, this study was conducted with the intention to investigate the effect of leader-member exchange, team climate for innovation, job demands, and learning goal orientation on innovative work behavior among employees from the production division in Sonatrach Corporation in Algeria. The study also examined the role of learning goal orientation as a mediator in the relationship between leader-member exchange, team climate for innovation, job demands, and innovative work behavior. The study adopts Social Exchange Theory (SET) to support the theoretical framework in the context of individuals innovative work behavior. A total of 535 questionnaires were personally distributed to full-time workers at the production division of Sonatrach Corporation in Algeria. 268 questionnaires were returned, representing a response rate of 50%. However, only 225 questionnaires were usable for further analysis. The hypotheses for direct and indirect effects were tested using Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) – Partial Least (PLS) method. The results indicate that there was significant effect of leadermember exchange, team climate for innovation, and learning goal orientation on innovative work behavior. Learning goal orientation was also found mediates the relationship between leader-member exchange, team climate for innovation, job demands and innovative work behavior. However, learning goal orientation did not mediate the relationship between team climate for innovation and innovative work behavior.
