Description
Summary:This study was conducted specifically to identify the relationship between the factors of job satisfaction, work life balance, work stress, motivation and teacher work performance. The design of this study is correlational study because this study aims to identify the relationship between the factors of job satisfaction, work-life balance, job stress and teacher work performance, while motivation acts as a mediator. Social Exchange Theory and Vroom's Expectancy Theory were used in developing the research framework. The study population is a total of 34,487 Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) teachers in the education sector in the Northern Region of Peninsular Malaysia, namely the states of Perlis, Kedah, Penang and Perak Utara. The nature of this study is cross-sectional. This study uses a quantitative approach with a questionnaire method to obtain data. Based on the survey method, followed by cluster and simple random sampling methods, a total of 500 questionnaires were revealed to randomly selected respondents. Of the 500 questionnaires that were revealed, a total of 412 questionnaires were returned and 400 data was analyzed using Statistical Packages for Social Science (SPSS) Version 25. The results of the analysis found that job satisfaction, work life balance, work stress and motivation have a significant positive relationship with teacher work performance. The findings of the study show that motivation shows a mediating effect on the relationship between job satisfaction, work life balance and work stress with teacher work performance. Next, the findings of the study are useful for theoretical and practical implications. Results of this research will allows the Malaysian Ministry of Education to design and implement a more effective self-development program for teachers. Some suggestions for further research are also presented.
