The educational content in affective mobile apps is scarce, especially for low vision learners. Many mobile applications do not address the low vision learners' affective or emotional needs. Preliminary studies have proven that available content applications lack to cater to the needs of low vision learners in terms of affective components. Hence, this study proposes a set of affective four dimensional design principles in a mobile application for low vision learners, named Affective Four Dimensional Design Principles of Mobile Mathematics Application for Primary School Low Vision Learners. Two (2) specific objectives are formulated which are; to construct the affective design principles through comparative analysis and a user-centred desin approach and to validate the affective design principles through prototyping, expert review, and user experience testing. To achieve the objectives, two (2) design approach utilised in this study, interview and observation. The Design Science Research Methodology (DSRM) has been adopted. Four (4) components of Affective four dimensional design principles have been constructed based on the affective four dimensional component: emotion, feeling, thought, and action which derived eight (8) elements: memorable, motivational, interest, happiness, positive perception, positive mind state, navigation, and interaction The proposed of thirteen (13) affective four dimensional design principles has been reviewed by six (6) experts and validated through prototyping. The prototype has been undergo the user experience testing on seven (7) low vision learners of primary school. The experts approved the proposed design principles in this study suggests novice and non-technical developers should apply affective four dimensional design principles as their guidelines for mobile application development. User experience testing shows that this study meets low vision learners in terms of affective. These results show that Affective four dimensional design principles Four Dimensional are useful mobile content application development which also provide theoretical and practical contributions to ensure equitable learning opportunities for low vision learners. 2024 Thesis https://etd.uum.edu.my/11009/ https://etd.uum.edu.my/11009/1/depositpermission-827248.pdf text eng staffonly https://etd.uum.edu.my/11009/2/s827248_01.pdf text eng public other masters Universiti Utara Malaysia
