Work. Working Class The study aims to investigate how employees' intentions to participate in preventative maintenance activities are influenced by several factors, such as work-life balance, employee wellness, retention rates, turnover, job performance, and digital technology performance. The substantial influence of these factors on workers' readiness to participate in preventative maintenance tasks is addressed by the research questions. This study applies the idea of planned behaviour to assess Malaysian manufacturing employees' intention to engage in preventative maintenance procedures. Malaysia's manufacturing industry contributes significantly to the GDP of the nation, although it has difficulties being sustainable and competitive internationally. It has been determined that one way to increase output and prolong the life of manufacturing equipment is through preventive maintenance. The data gathered from remote-working personnel in Malaysian manufacturing through a cross-sectional survey is analysed using a descriptive study design. To ensure a robust statistical analysis, a sample size of at least 100 individuals is selected using simple random selection. The research aims are reflected in the questionnaire design, which focuses on demographic data and employee attitudes towards work-life balance, preventive maintenance, wellbeing, flexibility in the workplace, and aspirations about prevention activities. Cronbach's alpha is used to evaluate data reliability, guaranteeing the quality and internal consistency of the information gathered. To test hypotheses and come to relevant conclusions, data analysis techniques including regression analysis, correlation analysis, and descriptive statistics are performed using the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) software. The study presents a detailed examination of factors influencing employees' intention to engage in preventive maintenance activities in Malaysian manufacturing settings. 2024 Thesis https://etd.uum.edu.my/11241/ https://etd.uum.edu.my/11241/1/depositpermission.pdf text eng staffonly https://etd.uum.edu.my/11241/2/s830062_01.pdf text eng public other masters Universiti Utara Malaysia |
