Summary:This survey focuses on the responses of teachers towards the effectiveness of the management of in-house trainings in thirteen secondary schools in the District of Kota Setar, in Kedah Darul Aman. The purpose of this survey is to analyse the effectiveness of in-house training programmes at the levels of in-house training programme management and the effectiveness of in-house trainings. This study also aims to analyse the correlation between the management level and the effectiveness of the in-house trainings. Two hundred and seventy four respondents or 27.6 % from 993 population involved in this research. The respondents of this survey are 274 teachers, selected randomly through simple sampling. 258 of them or 94.2% completed and returned the questionnaires which were later tabulated and analysed in this study. The primary data were collected through the use of questionnaires and were analysed using descriptive statistics and inference statistics methods. The findings of this survey show that the acceptance of teachers towards the effectiveness of management and effect levels of in-house training programme is at a high levels. Resides that, the findings also indicate the existance of a correlation between the management level of the in-house trainings and the effectiveness level in the in-house trainings. Through this survey, it was also found that independent variants like sex and teaching experience do not affect the effectiveness of in-house trainings. On the whole, this survey finds out that the effectiveness of the management of in-house training programmes according to the acceptance of teachers is at a high level. This is an encouragement towards the development of staf. The findings of this survey, however is very useful to the school administrators particularly and the other stakeholders generally, namely the PTA, The District Education Office, The State Education Department and The Malaysian Education Ministry itself, in planning strategically for the aspect of the management of human resource especially in-house trainings.
