Summary: | The purpose of this study was to ascertain the influence of teacher classroom behaviour, student’s family background, peer group and individual characteristic on disciplinary problems in urban secondary schools. The study was also to ascertain the factor which was dominant in influencing the student disciplinary problems. 338 Form Two and Four
student from seven schools in Kota Bharu were chosen as the sample. Data was collected through questionnaire. Analysis was carried out using the SPSS (Statistic Package For Social Science) programmed - The result of this study indicated that the factors influenced the disciplinary
problems of the students in a different degree. The student’s family background (mean=4.373) had a higher level of influence on the disciplinary problems, whereas the teacher classroom behavior factor (mean=4,087), individual factor (mean=4,068 )and peer group factor (mean=3.817) had average level of influence. |
