Summary:This study finds that the teachings of Sufism have always being understood that some people brought to the decline of community and avoid being involved in the business of the world. In contrast to the Sufi scholars in the and 17th and 18th centuries AD the are contrary to what is alleged. Sufi scholars in the 17th and 18th centuries AD can actualize the teachings of Sufismin society. As such, they are involved in social activities and politics which is driven by the interpretation of the teachings of Sufism that they believe. Dakwah in the application is a process of social interaction between da'I and mad'u of a relationship between two or more individuals human in which individual behavior influence, alter or improve the behavior of other individuals. Continuity of social interaction based on factors of imitation, suggestion, identification and sympathy. Similarly, dakwah activity is the communication process, the effectiveness of the dakwah is identical to the effectiveness of communication. The effective communication when the stimulus is sent or delivered by an interpreter mission closely related to the stimulus that was captured and understood by the receiving mission. Thus, the methods of preaching in between there are bi-missionary and missionary oral bill-matter. Sufi clerics preaching methods 17th and 18th century AD including the method of preaching or dakwah lisanul-hal or dakwah bil-hal. This method can be seen in their daily activities as realization of practicing the teachings of Sufism as helpful interaction the society with solve the problems of the community, actively fought on the battle field, act as teachers, scholars, the goverment mufti, charismatic, tawadhu'. All of these have influenced on dakwah Sufi scholar in the archipelago. Approach their mission is the first mission through the Superintendent(politics), the second mission through orders with the organization. In addition, they coordinate the aspects of the law (Shari'ah-zahiriyyah), and aspects of Islam mystics (sufiyyah-bathiniyyah). They reconcile the concept of Sufism Sufism Ibn'Arabi al-Gazali while maintaining an important meaning in the Islamic Sufis. While they are understanding the pattern of Sufis Ahl as-Sunnah wal-al assembly, the defending tanzih God of creation and rejects the doctrine of uniting with mankind and God. Bermazhab Shafi, with aqidah asy-Ariyah, and orders flowing Qadariyyah, Syatariyyah, sammaniyyah, khalwatiyyah, and Naqsabandiyyah. This survey was conduct by using quantitative method. This method also uses the content analysis technique base on the works of Sufi scholars on 17th and l8th century. The study results show personality preachers and interaction with society is the main cause of the triumph of the spread of Islam on 17th and 18th centuries. So that by to day's preachers are advised to examine the style and approach to preachers of the 17th and 18th century, especially in aspects of personality and their involvement with community members.
