Summary:Tithe or alms is an important source of revenue for the state to improve the economic condition of the poor. Management of the tithe collection as well as its effective distribution will help develop the community. Thus, this paper aims to study this study was to determine the effect of the distribution of zakat in eradicating poverty and reducing the imbalances in income distribution among the poor in the Kota Setar, Kedah Darul Aman. Although statistics on the state of Orissa zakat collection growing every year and poverty eradication programs underway but the phenomene on of poverty still exist. The Departement of Zakat Kedah having charge of the affairs of Muslims has also provided various assistance schemes to ensure that the poor recipients always get proper defenseFor this purpose, a study is done using a qualitative method, the method of approach them face to face interview data above, individuals in the Department of Zakat Kedah, Zakat Office district Kota Setar of Muzakki (those who give alms) and Mustahik (those who receive alms). To achieve the study method, the analysis used in this study is a SWOT analysis (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats) and TOWS matrix. Obtain findings is that the management of a professional charity and trust, it can reduce the incidence of poverty among the poor recipients and the incidence of public trust that give alms to the institutions that have been set.
