description The purpose of this research is to identify the relationship between Emotional Intelligence (EI) among KadazanDusun teachers and the class control during teaching and learning activities on academically weak students in secondary school for Ranau district level. Seven secondary schools were selected as the research location, occupied by 300 KadazanDusun teachers' in service, as samples. Questionnaire taken as instrument which was adapted from the instrument on the Malaysian Emotional Quotient (MEQI) developed by Noriah, Siti Rohayah, Zuria & Manisah (2003). The Emotional Intelligence Conceptual Model by Daniel Goleman (1999) was used as the conceptual frame in this research. Results from the findings were analyzed using the SPSS 12.0 for Windows. Descriptive Analysis was used to identify the Emotional Intelligence Level (7 Partition) among teachers as a whole. The research findings showed that EI level among those teachers was high, in about 3.87 to 4.61 ranged approximately on mature and spiritual part. The Spearman's Rho Correlation Test was used to identify whether the existence of relationship between EI and class control relatively negative and weak. T-Test was used to examine differences on Emotional Intelligence gender based showed that there was no significant difference based on gender. The ANOVA which was used to test the EI ageing, school location, service duration and academic qualification also showed no significant difference. The research finding as a whole showed that EI among KadazanDusun teachers in secondary school Ranau District Level were relatively high but very weak application in class control for weak students during teaching and learning activities
