description The main objective of this research is to identify stress factors amongst teachers in secondary in Kapit district. The research paper was also to know the level of stress amongst teachers in Kapit district. Apart from the above objectives, this study was also to determine the differences of stress level based on gender and teaching experiences. The data was collected randomly from 190 secondary school teachers in Kapit district. A set of questionnaire developed by Pattegrew and Wolf (1982) was used as instrument to collect the level of stress data. The data was analyzed using the SPSS programme version 12.0. The descriptive statistical such as frequency, percentage and mean were used to interpret the level of stress amongst teachers. This research identified that the level of stress amongst teachers in Kapit district was moderate. The dominants stress factors for teachers in Kapit are the pressure from school management, head department support, and colleague support. Data analyses showed that gender, service categories and teachers experience were not the dominant factors for teacher stress. Based on the result of the study, it can be concluded that the level of stress amongst teachers in Kapit was moderate and the main factors of teacher stress in Kapit were the pressure from school management
