non-academic work. This study was also carried out to investigate any significant correlation between job satisfaction with demographical factors such as age and teaching experience. The correlation between the gender and academic
qualification against job satisfaction was also evaluated in this research. The study was conducted in Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Bakar Arang, in Kuala Muda Yan district. All the 94 teachers from the school were selected for the study in which only 84 answered the questionnaires. In this study, the first and second question was tested using Pearson Correlation. but no significant correlation was calculated between age and job satisfaction (iii) There was no significant differences between job satisfaction and gender and (iv) there was no significant difference between teachers academic qualification and job satisfaction. From the findings, it can be concluded that high level workload related to non academic affairs led to less job satisfaction among the teachers in Sekolah Menengah Bakar Arang in Sungai Petani, Kedah.
