In this study 198 students from Sekolah Menengah Doktor Burhanuddin Taiping in the district of Larut, Matang and Selama are involved . The Cronbach value obtained is 0.60. In this study 5 hyphoteses are constructed. They are tested using t-test and ANOVA. A11 the hypotheses are tested at the 0.05 significant level. The results of the study show there is no significant relationship between emotional intelligence based on demographic factors and students' academic achievement. This study discusses the findings of previous researches and their implications on the present study. This study also presents several proposals for future studies.
