Summary:This survey is conducted to examine and obtain information and understanding whether the implementation of ISO 9002 in Education setting follows the process of organizational change and development in an organization. This study is a case study done in a secondary school and a primary school in Perlis, namely Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Derma (SMKD) and Sekolah Kebangsaan Seri Indra SKSI in Kangar Both schools are pioneer schools to be chosen to implement ISO 9002 in Malaysia in 1996. This study is an exploratory research, whereby it follows the qualitative method. Seven respondents are interviewed and some documents research are done to get the result and information for this case study. Most of the respondents involved those in the management circle of both organizations The outcome of the interview is mostly based on the respondents’ experience and opinion. Various form of other data is also obtained from documents relating to the implementation of ISO 9002 in both schools. The result of this study reveals that both schools engaged some aspects of the organizational change and development process while successfully implementing the ISO 9002. This shows that various OD interventions can be used in parallel with the implementation of ISO 9002 in the education setting. In the case of both school, OD techniques are used inattentively. Finally, for future undertaking, schools implementing the ISO 9002 should follow proper organizational change and development process.
