Description
Summary:The aim of this thesis is to investigate the occupational safety and health practices in University Malaya Medical Centre, Kuala Lumpur (UMMC). The study is based on the response of 240 respondents to our questionnaire. The respondents constitute of PPUM's workforce of various positions. Statistical Package software for Social Science (SPSS) Version 19.0 was used to analyze the collected data using Pearson correlation and multiple regressions. The results showed the independent variables (work environment, commitment of the worker and knowledge, the commitment of the management, training, information communication and leadership styles have significant positive relationship with the dependent variable which is the implementation of codes of practice safety and health. In addition, multiple regression showed all independent variables were a significant predictor in determining the codes of practice safety and health except management committment and information communication. It is recommended for future research to conduct on other factors such as motivation, demographic or personality of the individual that may influence or contribute to the code of practice of health and safety in the workplace
