總結:This research studies the relationship between the environmental factors and problems in schools. The research focuses mainly on three independent variables and truancy among the secondary students. These three variables are family, school and peer group. Correspondingly, this quantitative research examines the depth in which these factors affect one another and also to determine which is the most dominant among the three? The main respondents are four hundred form four students from twenty secondary schools in Alor Setar, Kedah Darul Aman. These students, who are prone to truancy in their respective schools, were randomly selected to answer the questionnaires. Their responses are used as the main source of information in this research. Interviews were conducted with schools principals, teachers, representatives of PIBG and the District Police Chief of Kota Setar as secondary respondents in this research and their responses will help to address the issues in this research precisely. All data from the main respondents will be collected and analyzed using computer-aided program SPSS-7.5 for Windows. Discreetly, this helps to find the statistical values to consolidate the discoveries and hypothesis of this research. The discoveries in this research show that correlatively there is a significant relationship between the environmental factors and truancy. The family factor is the most dominant factor contributing to truancy.
