Hubungan antara kepimpinan kendiri dan efikasi kendiri dengan gelagat kewarganegaraan organisasi guru
description Organizational citizenship behavior of teachers is vital in producing excellent students in all aspects of education for enabling them to compete at international level. However, how good is teachers’ organizational citizenship behavior in Malaysia? Thus, this study was carried out to identify the level of teachers’ self-leadership, self-efficacy, and organizational citizenship behavior of teachers and to identify the relationship between these three variables. This research was also carried to identify the role of self-efficacy as mediating factor in the relationship between teachers’ self-leadership and teachers’ organizational citizenship behavior. In order to achieve the objectives of the study, a cross sectional survey design using standardized questionnaires was used to collect data. A total of 632 teachers were randomly selected from 24 high-performing primary schools in Malaysia. Data were analyzed using descriptive analysis, inferential statistics and structural equation modeling (SEM). The finding showed that the levels of teachers’ selfleadership, self-efficacy and teachers’ organizational citizenship behavior are at high level and there was a significant relationship between teachers’ self-leadership, self-efficacy and teachers’ organizational citizenship behavior. The finding also indicated that self-efficacy is a partially mediator in the relationship between teachers’ self-leadership and teachers’ organizational citizenship behavior. This study has contributed to the development of social exchange theory and social learning theory in the Malaysian educational contexts. The importance of teachers’ self leadership must be taken into consideration. Ministry Of Education should establish new course and training to increase teachers’ self leadership, besides additional curriculum for new coming teachers in Teacher Education Institute.
