People want these devices to do everything from access their e-mail accounts, to utilize the internet, to access personal and corporate information. One type of service that is available is a technology called SMS (Short Messaging Service). SMS is the technology that allows text messages to be received and sent over mobile devices. In the UUM Mail Notification System Using Mobile SMS Application prototype can know the student the contents of the Mailbox from mail (letters, Bills and Parcels) and details of this mail. The researcher suggest this system because the post office in University Utara Malaysia (Pos Malaysia Berhad UUM) not able to inform or to notice the students whether they receive the mail or not, and of the increasing number of students at the University Utara Malaysia (UUM), etc. Therefore, developing a system to help students face these obstacles and to save time and effort being a must. So, this study aimed to provide a service for students to know states mail. Student need to register with the system in order to obtain the service by going directly to the Mail Distribution Center of residential college and give all information to the staff or by visiting the web site and fill up the registration form. Registered students will be notified via SMS if receive new mails.
