This research also attempted to determine if significant differences in teachers motivation existed based on teachers’ sex, service category, race, age,teaching experience, years of service in a particular school and location of the school. A selection of 220 teachers was made from 9 secondary schools in the District of Tumpat. The three instruments used are:- a) Leader Behavior Description Questionnaire (LBDQ) to measure the initiative structure of the principal’s style of leadership and consideration. b) A Questionnaire Measure of Individual Differences in Achieving Tendency (QMAT) to measure the teachers’ motivation level. c) An instrument to obtain demographic data such as marital status, race, age, teaching experience, years of service and location of school. The testing of the first hypothesis uses the Pearson’s correlation coefficient to analyse statistical data by SPSS Computer method. The other hypothesis made use of the Varian Analysis (ANOVA) and T-test. The result obtained are as follows:- l)The first hypothesis was rejected because there was a significant relationship between the principal’s style of leadership and the teachers’ motivation level. 2) The second hypothesis was accepted because there was no difference in the motivation level between lady teachers and man teachers. 3) The third hypothesis was accepted because there was no dit&rence in the motivation level between graduate teachers and non-graduate teachers. 4) The fourth hypothesis was accepted because there was no difference in the motivation level between Science teachers and Arts teachers. 5) The fifth hypothesis was rejected because there was a difference in the motivation level between married teachers and single teachers. 6) The sixth hypothesis was accepted because there was no difference in the motivation level between Malay teachers and non-Malay teachers (Chinese and Siamese). 7) The seventh hypothesis was rejected because there was a difference in the motivation level among teachers of various age. 8) The eighth hypothesis was accepted because there was no difference in the motivation level among teachers based on their teaching experience. 9) The ninth hypothesis was rejected because there was a ditkence in the motivation level among teachers based on years of service. 10) The tenth hypothesis was accepted because there was no difference in the motivation level of teachers among the various schools.
