Description
Summary:The purpose of this study is to investigate the perception of teachers on the success determinant of teamwork in schools. Teamwork is considered as one of the most important elements in Total Quality Management as stated in PKPA (Public Administrative Improvement Circular). This research is to find out whether there is a relationship between teamwork and administrative posts as well as teamwork to TQM courses. Besides, this research is to see the different perception of teachers in teamwork according to grade of schools, school location, academic qualification, marital status, sex, duration of service, age and ethics. This survey was carried out using a sample of 500 respondents from 18 schools in the district of Kulim. A total of 500 sets of questionnaire forms were distributed by the researcher himself to the respondents. However, only 444 responded. The questionnaire consists of 38 items using Likert Five Scale. The data collected was analysed using the descriptive statistic method and inferential statistic. 10 major hypotheses were formulated and tested using the t-test, Variant Scale Analysis (ANOVA), Pearson Correlation Analysis and Reliability Test (Cronbach Alpha) for the pilot test. The finding show that there is a significant relationship between perception of teachers in teamwork to administrative posts. On the other hand, there is no relationship between teamwork and TQM courses. The results of this research also reveals that there is no difference in the teachers’ perception towards teamwork according to grade of schools, academic qualifications, marital status, location of schools and ethics. However, it is found that there is a difference in the perception of teachers towards teamwork based on sex, duration of service and age.
