Summary:Knowledge sharing has been regarded as key to long term organizational success. Recent trend in the field of strategic management has been to emphasize the role of organizational knowledge as a basis for competitive advantage of particular organizations. Therefore, the study is conducted related to knowledge sharing activities in organization and the factors that influence the process. Specifically, the main objective of the study is to examine the influence of English competency and communication channel selection on knowledge sharing among employees. The research was conducted quantitatively and 133 questionnaires were gathered from employees in tyre industry organization in Malaysia. Several tests such as Multiple Linear Regression, Independent Sample T-Test and One-Way ANOVA were performed to address the research objectives. The result shows that knowledge sharing was positively influenced by English competency and communication channel selection. It can be concluded that English competency and communication channel selection play an important role in determining the success of knowledge sharing among employees. Apart from that, knowledge sharing activities were found significantly differs between gender, nationality and among job position. The study contributes to better understanding in knowledge sharing and gives alternatives for improved practices in future.
