Career Decision Making Difficulties Among Female Final Year BBA Students' at UUM
description This study was conducted to see how difficulty in career decision making differs according to different demographic factors. The demographic factor involved are ethnicity, level of education, CGPA, parent's background (consists of father's and mother's education level, monthly total income, parent's support), occupation choice and confidence level. The populations of female final year students enroll in Bachelor Business Administration are 360 based on HEA department information academic session 2005/2006. 188 students have been selected randomly to be the participants. Response rate for this study is 81%. In order to determine if any differences and relationshp exist, results were analyzed by using an independent samples t-test, oneway Anova and Pearson Correlation with career decision making difficulties questionnaire (CDDQ). Overall, respondents face moderate difficulty in career decision making. Among the three dimensions that measure CDDQ, lack of information was the main factors that most of the students encounter in career decision making. Based on the findings of ths study, further research is needed to determine which aspect of demographic factors influence career decision making difficulties. These studies recommend that all higher education institution should have career service centre to assist students from their first semester until they graduated on career decision making.
