Summary: | High-technology organisations such as the electrical and electronic manufacturing companies must compete in a challenging business world. To sustain growth, the organisations have to learn, explore and create new strategies to face the competitive pressures. The exploration of new strategies will enable electrical and electronic manufacturing organisations to produce high quality products for export. However, little is known of the internal practices in manufacturing companies and the dearth of research in this field also limits the understanding of employees’ appropriate behavior that could enhance their organisations’ performance. Therefore, this study attempted to assess the relationship between workplace environment, teamwork, and
transformational leadership on organisation performance through the quantitative approach. To achieve the objective, the current study employed the Learning Organisation Theory to examine the factors that contribute to organisation performance. 134 employees from five electrical and electronic
manufacturing companies in Selangor participated in this study. The sample group consisted of executives, managers and higher level management. The Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) and the Partial Least Squares-Structural Equation Modelling (PLS-SEM) were used to analyse the data. The results of the analysis reveal that workplace environment and teamwork factor have significant positive relationships with organisation performance. Meanwhile, transformational leadership has a positive effect on
organisation performance but the influence is not significant. Thus, it expands the current theory as well as the literature, specifically in the context of the manufacturing industry in Malaysia and contributes to the practical implications on how the organisation’s performance can be improved through
effective strategy implementation. |
