Malaysia is also no exception in this regard as reports indicate that levels of awareness are still low among employers and workers. This study aims to examine the level of occupational safety awareness. The three factors that are expected to influence occupational safety awareness include employee involvement, safety training and employee commitment. A research framework is developed and three hypotheses are put forward to be tested. This field research executed through questionnaire is cross-sectional. A total of 190 questionnaires are distributed to selected respondents. The number of returned questionnaires is 163 and they are used in a statistical analysis. All hypotheses are tested by using the correlation and regression analysis. The result of Pearson Correlation indicates that the independent variables (employee involvement, safety training and employee commitment) have a strong positive correlation with the dependent variables (safety awareness). The result of multiple regression test shows that all three variables have a significant correlation and influence safety awareness which are employee involvement (β=0.075, p<0.05), safety practices (β=0.805, p<0.05) and employee commitment (β=0.121, p<0.05). These factors explained 97.5% of the safety awareness variance. A value of r2=0.951 shows that 95.1% changes in safety awareness are due to changes in all these factors. In conclusion, the findings of this study contribute in boosting the knowledge and awareness regarding the practice of occupational safety awareness.
