الملخص: | The present rapid development in information technology has given new hope in education. Teachers are very important asset in executing this educational innovation. The purpose of this study was to explore secondary school teachers’ computer literacy and attitude toward computers in the district of Kuala Muda/Yan, Kedah. The mean score for computer literacy and attitude toward computers were
correlated and compared based on various demographic information. Statistical analysis used to examine the result were Pearson Correlation, T-Test, oneway ANOVA and multiple regression. The statistical analysis provided the following results: (a) Teachers’ computer literacy was low, (b) The attitude toward computers mean score was high or teachers has positive attitude toward computers, (c)
Teachers’ experience with computers was low, (d) Male teachers lead female teachers in computer literacy and attitude toward computers, (e) There was no significant difference in computer literacy and attitude toward computers based on age, teaching experience, subject specialization and qualification, (f) A significant
difference in computer literacy and attitude with computers was found between teachers who own computer, attended courses, experience with computers and
knowledge of computers. Teachers should enhanced computer literacy so that the schools are ready to move into the era of information technology successfully. |
