Description
Summary:This study is conducted to examine the relationship between factors that influence work-life balance among administrative staff in Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM). The independent variables of this study comprises of supervisor support, co-worker support, workload, flexible work arrangement and job involvement, whereas the dependent variable is work-life balance. The quantitative research method via Google Documented Questionnaire was used as the research instrument to collect data. Total of 317 samples randomly selected from UUM Departments (N=1723). The collected data was analysed by using Statistical Packages for Social Science version 26.0 (SPSS 26.0). The reliability test, normality test, descriptive test, Pearson Correlation and Multiple Linear Regression had been used in this study. The Pearson Correlation and Multiple Linear Regression are used to test the relationship between independent variables and dependent variable. The results revealed that there is positive relationship between supervisor support, co-worker support, and job involvement with work-life balance. While, there is significant and negative correlation between workload and work-life balance and flexible work arrangement and work-life balance. This is because, the higher workload felt by the employees, the lesser the work-life balance enjoyed by them, and the specific flexible working arrangement can exacerbate the balance between work and life. Finally, the implication for managerial, individuals and academicians and some recommendation for future research were discussed.
