Summary:Film is an effective components of media in conveying messages, information and entertainment sources. In fact, it also serves as a profit generator when a film is made into a product to a company. Although many feature films are produced, polemics films have not changed much, not many quality films and are even uncompetitive. This study is done to identify strategic management elements practiced in the production of film Redha. The study also examined the challenges and solutions for strategic management in the production of film Redha. This study is based on the Strategic Management Model of An Independent Film Production Company, Vitkauskaite 2017. A qualitative approach through in-depth interviews with ten people involved in the film production Redha is applied for the study. The analysis in this study is by applying the thematic analysis which was adapted from ‘Product Oriented’ model by Vitkauskaite (2020). The key elements investigated in this study are based on production phase components, strategic management practices, successful film missions and other practices. Strategic management is carried out in all three phases of production which are pre-production, production and post-production. The results show that strategic management was practiced in film production Redha by producing nine themes namely communications, value chain, systematic, leadership, quality crew, competitive, strategy, technology and innovation, and professionalism. This study also found that the challenges are overcame in terms of strategy, communication, value chain, systematic and leadership using strategic management. In addition, the leading actress who was not convinced was given swimming training to restore her self-confidence and acted well. Based on the findings cultivated through the Feature Film Production Strategic Management Model, there are strategic management elements and solutions which practiced in the production of film Redha thereby won awards nationally and internationally. Thus, this study contributed a Strategic Management Feature Film Model in Malaysia.
