الملخص: | IRBM is responsible to improve the taxpayers’ services as align with the global technology advancement in order to increase the revenue collection. One of the systems which known as Self-Assessment System (SAS) have been implemented since 2001 which gives the taxpayers the freedom to report their tax accordingly. However, underreporting of income among companies have still becoming the major concern of IRBM by the non-compliant taxpayers. This study is focusing on four characteristics which are, location, size of tax agent, type of industry and strategies of understating of income in tax underreporting. Resulting from the study conducted, the corporate tax avoidance issue has associated positively by location, industry type and strategies of the understating of income in tax underreporting. Taxpayers made tax savings if they successfully evade their actual tax. However, taxpayer will be charged with higher penalties once detected. Taxpayers will be facing a fixed penalty rate when caught evading tax by IRBM desk audit and field audit which resulting in additional tax collection as the revenue collection which can be used to improve to livelihood of the public. |
